The challenge of technological evolution and progress is particularly challenging for the healthcare industry
Enterprise-wide area networks (WANs) are undergoing a fundamental shift. As organizations move faster and scale wider. IT leaders are prioritizing network agility, security, and resilience, especially across distributed branch locations, connected vehicles, and edge devices.
That’s why wireless WAN is no longer an experiment. It’s a strategic choice.
According to The State of Wireless WAN 2023, the newest data from Cradlepoint, IDG and GTT, 4G and 5G connectivity is not just supporting enterprise networks—it’s beginning to lead them. This white paper presents insights from over 700 IT professionals across five countries, including the U.S., U.K., Mexico, Canada, and Australia.
More than half of surveyed organizations are already using wireless WAN as their primary link in some locations. Even more are layering cellular into hybrid architectures to provide backup connectivity, reduce branch downtime, and support mobile-first deployments. The report forecasts a 68% increase in enterprise use of 4G/5G over the next three years, outpacing all other broadband types.
This surge in wireless adoption is accompanied by a parallel rise in SD-WAN deployment. With two-thirds of respondents having already adopted or planning to adopt SD-WAN within six months, the pairing of intelligent WAN management with high-speed cellular access is enabling new levels of performance. Together, these technologies are helping enterprises balance cost, coverage, and control across increasingly complex environments.
What you will learn
You’ll learn how enterprises are overcoming limitations of wired broadband, accelerating deployment timelines, and eliminating reliance on single-vendor MPLS contracts. Use cases covered include mobile and temporary locations, failover for high-availability systems, and direct-to-cloud access for SaaS applications.
The white paper also highlights advances in dual connectivity—simultaneous 4G and 5G use—which provides built-in failover and dynamic performance optimization. With dual modem and intelligent routing, traffic automatically shifts between available connections based on signal quality and bandwidth needs. This ensures consistent performance even in high-demand or remote environments.
Whether you’re exploring your first wireless deployment or scaling across hundreds of sites, this report delivers the data, insights, and technical clarity to move forward with confidence.
